Agli Amici del Blog lontani e vicini. Corsi on Line

Può essere una bella occasione, inoltre... the course is in English and can be a real opportunity to be in a larger context. Keep in mind that if  walk only in the staight path you will end up with nothing (a piece of paper, i.e.  a diploma for under employment). You must search a little bit outside the staith path. Explore..

All the info from the the post below. >>>

John Allen Book Launch 3 December at October Gallery

John Allen belongs to the great and noble tradition of Transcendentalism, the tradition of Ralph Waldo Emerson, of R. Buckminster Fuller and Frank Lloyd Wright. His whole existence, his studies, work, and interests are moved by a few fundamental principles. In John Allen, these principles share an organic, total ecologic structure that intimately combines land, nature, air and art with philosophy, theater and spiritual aspirations. The particularity of his work and life is that this combination has brought amazing results on the highest levels of achievement in science and engineering such as Biosphere 2. He has also realized small but extremely vital projects such the October Gallery in London, the Synergia Ranch in Santa Fe and the vessel Heraclitus that has been cruising the world since 1975. John Allen's stature is that of a Nobel prizewinner.  For the reader of this book, there unfolds an unforgettable, stimulating and fascinating account of freedom and the possibility of human creation when it is nourished by profound reason.

Nuove Norme per i Concorsi Universitari. Siccome norme peggiori delle precedenti è praticamente impossibile avere, aspettiamo fiduciosi

Leggi i dettagli Le università possono riaprire i concorsi

Geodestic Dome, Synergia ranch, New Mexico

Report dalla Cupola del Synergia ranch. 8 ottobre 2010

Note tecniche
The diameter of the dome is 50 feet, 28 feet high. (15.2 m diameter, 8.5 m high)
The struts vary in length from 4.95 feet to 6.54 feet (1.5 m to 2 m) depending on their position in the geometry. There are 9 different strut lengths, plus some special struts surrounding the doorways.
Total cost in 1970 for materials was around $1000, mostly for the canvas, but we were able to get the struts from salvage of old buildings and didn't have to pay for them.
Are you thinking of building a dome ? There are many details and exact measurements that have to be done just right.
Freddy
